Japanese driving badly • In Japan, a group of exotic car enthusiasts was driving together from Tokyo to Hiroshima on Sunday • Included were eight Ferraris, one Lamborghini, and two Mercedes • The cars collided • Tokyo has wonderful sushi and tempura • Police said the wreck began when a Ferrari driver hit the median while changing lanes. He then spun across the highway • The other cars plowed into him and each other trying to avoid him • Police would not estimate the damage, but because a used Ferrari sells for at least $100,000 in Japan, the damage was more than $1 million... and likely much higher • No one was seriously injured, but police in Yamaguchi prefecture said 10 people were treated for bruises and cuts • Police said some of the cars were completely destroyed • One tow-truck driver said it was the most expensive wreck he’s seen

He lives on Chicago’s Southwest Side • He approached a parked car at 11:30 p.m. Sunday and asked the driver for a lighter • The driver said he didn’t have one; Miranda pulled a gun and demanded money • The driver, who was not identified by police, is a mixed-martial arts fighter; he gave Miranda some money • Miranda then demanded the driver get out of his car, Officer John Mirabella said • The victim then grabbed Miranda’s gun and the two wrestled; Miranda shot himself in the ankle • The victim subdued Miranda and held him down until police arrived • The car was parked at 55th and Kenneth • Chicago is the home of Barack Obama; it has excellent hot dogs • Miranda is a convicted felon; he was being held on $350,000 bond after being charged with armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm, police said • In addition to the gunshot, Miranda had two black eyes and lots of cuts
