  4. Methodology • Surveyed participants and conducted conversations with them to determine their needs. • Both needed assistance with • File management • Word processing (formatting text, saving files) • Attaching documents to Emails • Developing PowerPoint displays. • An additional requirement for Leon was to develop some basic “moodle” skills

With the training that Julie has give me over the past 6 weeks I have gained confidence and achieved things that I thought were not possible” • Can create a word document and do basic formatting and print • Can open and send attachments with emails • Can find files! • Can now set up laptop and projector, find the PowerPoint display on USB 

  8. Achievements: Leon • Can locate files more readily • Can do basic formatting on word and PowerPoint • Can access moodle • Knows how to “upload a file” to moodle.

  9. Mentors View • A great experience! • A reminder that Elearning starts with the basics. • Enjoyed witnessing others small achievements • Frustrating at times but an excellent learning experience. • Participants were very willing to learn and to put in the time required. See my blog: http://eportfolio.vetsa.net.au/view/view.php?id=915

  10. Where to from here…. • Mentees will still need some more assistance to “consolidate” their skills. • In particular more assistance is required in further developing “moodle skills” • Mentor should be able to provide assistance on a “as needs” basis as mentees are in the same team.
