Project: Closing the Opportunity Gap for Students with Disabilities Three-State Consortium project under a Grant from U.S. Dept. of Education 2010-2012
Project Objectives with States, Districts, Schools • Research & Data: Develop and test methods for analyzing alignment of instruction to standards and assessments-- students with disabilities and all students • Professional Development: Provide models for use of data in schools to improve instruction • Report Results to consortium states and broader education community • Develop and Disseminate tools and resources for use in closing the Opportunity Gap
Online PD Series • March 21: Comparing current instruction with the Common Core—Use of SEC Data & Transition to CCSS Elementary Math • March 29: Common Core Standards: Shifts and Implications for Mathematics Instruction • April 10: Language Arts instructional strategies transition for Special Education teachers and All Teachers • April 12: Key content shifts across grades 4-8 in English language arts with Common Core Standards • April 16: Teachers of students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities—Aligning Instruction to Standards
