  1. We wish you attain the blessings of Eid-ul-Fitr without any sorrow and grief together with your beloved ones and your lowers. We hope that you reach the Baraka and Shafaat of Ramadan-i-Sharif. We kindly ask for your precious supplications and prayers. Ali Osmangaoglu 1431-2010

  2. When our dear Prophet Rasulullah (Sall-Allahu’alaihi Wa Aslam) saw Medinains celebrating their feast which remaining from their ignorant times, He pointed out the genuine joyful days by saying “Allahu taala has bestowed upon you more auspious fiests [Eid-ul Fitr and Eid-ul Adha]”.

  3. Why Eid-ul-Fitr and Adha are joyful days for us? Hadrat Imam-i Ghazali explains this as follows: 1- All believers rejoice during Eid days because they have been able to perform fasting which was made fard upon them during the holy month of Ramadan by Allahu taala and they acknowlege this as happy celebrations. 2- Eid-ul Fitr and Adha reoccur in every single year. Since these joyful days are repeated, they are called Eid.3- Because Allahu taala sends his beneficences abundantly during the Eid days . For this reason they are called Eid. 4- When the Eid days sets in, joyfulness also arrives upon us while afflictions and distresses go away. For this is reason these days are also called as Eid.

  4. At the same time Eid days are the most profitable days with few efforts. Hadrat Ebu Hurayra conveys a hadith that Rasulullah (Sall-Allahu’alaihi Wa Aslam) said “When one say “Subhanallahi wa bi hamdihi” three hundred times and sends the rewards of it to the souls of muslims passed away, one thousand noor (divine or holy lights) are distributed to them in their tombs. .

  5. WHAT TO DO ON THE EID DAYS? It is written in the book Ni’mat-i Islam: “It is sunnat to do the following things on the Eid days: To get up early; to make a ghusl, To clean the teeth with miswak, To put on perfume [without alcohol], To wear new and clean clothes; To show that you are happy, To eat sweetmeat before the prayer of the Eid of Fitr; to eat dates; to eat an odd number of them, To perform morning prayer in the masjid of one’s quarter and to go to a large mosque for the Eid prayer, To wear a ring on that day, To go to the mosque early and to go on foot; to say the Eidtakbirs softly on the Eid of Fitr and loudly on the Eid of Adha; to take a different route on one’s way back from the mosque (This is because the places where one offers one’s ibadat and the routes that one takes when going for ’ibadat will stand as witnesses on the Day of Judgement), To welcome the Believers [Muslims] with a smiling face and by saying ‘Assalamu ’alaykum’, To give alms generously to the poor and to give help to those who are working to disseminate true Islam, To give the sadaqa-ifitr before the Eid prayer.” It is sunnat also to reconcile those who are cross with one another, To visit one’s relatives and brothers-in-Islam, and to give them presents. Finally, it is sunnat for men to visit graves.

  6. May Allah subhana wa taala bless your Eid-ul-Fitr, May He accept your prayers and supplications, May He let you attain what you auspiciously hope and grant you His paradise, May He bestow upon you Saadat-i Darayn. We hope to receive valuable prayers of yours. 1.Shawwal.1431 ali zeki osmanagaoglu 09-September-2010
