Parts of a leaf • Blade – The main part of the leaf • Stalk – part that connects the blade to the stem. • Veins – have tubes that carry food and water • Stomates – take in air and water vapor
Different kinds of leaves • Broad leaf plants- have wide, flat leaves • Simple- has one blade, attached to one stalk • Compound- has many blades attached to one stalk • Needle leaf plants-The leaves are small, thin and pointed. They have a tough outer covering, this helps the leaf to contain water.
