Science Inquiry Presentation A guide to assist you in the preparation of a powerpointfor your Science Inquiry Presentation
Slide 1 Cover page Include • Your names • Your Science Inquiry topic
Slide 2 • Type your science inquiry question. • Include details about why you chose this question. • Do you have any prior knowledge about the question? For example – what do you already know about the feeding habits of magpies? • You may need to do some research about your question. For example visit the library or search the internet.
Slide 3 • Prediction • Think back to your science inquiry question. What do you predict will happen? • Do some extra research to support your prediction.
Slide 4 Variables What are you going to • Change? • Measure? • Keep the same?
Slide 5 Method • List the steps you took to conduct your investigation. • Include any photos taken while conducting the investigation
Slide 6 Table Create a table of your findings. For example -
Slide 7 Graph Can your findings be made into a graph? • Remember your X axis is along the bottom (horizontal) and lists the variables you have changed. • Your Y axis runs vertical and this is where you list your measurements
Slide 8 Explain your findings • Refer back to your prediction – how does your investigation compare to your original prediction. • Explain any patterns in your results.
Slide 9 Improvements • How could you improve this investigation? • What would you do better next time or what would you do differently? • Where could you head to next with this investigation?
Slide 10 Research and Final Summary • What have you learnt about this topic? • Is there any research about your investigation (on the internet or at the library) that you can use to help explain your findings?
Slide 11 • Thank you to the audience • And anything else that you wish to conclude with. Editing • Now go back through your presentation – do a spell check. Check that you are using the Australian spellings not US eg, colour (Aust) / color (US). • Check the background and font colours on your slides as some colours are hard to see on the IWB eg purple background with black font cannot be read easily.
