  2. STATE NICKNAME: IDT STATE MOTTO: “Where best theory-based, systematic instruction and the use of technological tools yield high learning outcomes.”

  3. STATEHOOD/HISTORY: Officially recognized as a “state” in 1963 with the emphasis on learning.

  4. CLIMATE Climate change is intrinsic to the state of IDT. Online education, collaborative learning through social media, and Web 3.0 semantic web applications are becoming increasingly “hot” with the winds of change and technological advances.

  5. GOVERNANCE IDT is governed by the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) and the professional code of ethics espoused by practitioners in the field.
