  4. Entry Criteria • A minimum of 368 points from 8 full GCSEs including Maths and English at A*-C (where A* = 58, A = 52, B = 46 and C = 40). • For information, this is equivalent to 8 Bs. (Please note that you will need higher grades if you wish to study Maths and/or English at A level) • GCSE minimum levels in four AS level subjects of study as detailed in the prospectus • The course required is on offer.

  7. Choosing Your Course • Select four AS level subjects • Think ahead to university course selection, and may need to be aware that certain degree courses require certain subjects at A level: For example, Architecture courses require Art A2

Choosing Your Course continued….. • In order to help you decide on your final choice of subjects, there is a section at the back of the brochure where you can find likely combinations of subjects needed for various degree courses/ careers. • Please note that any reduction in students opting for specific courses or a change in staffing might mean the subject offer would have to be amended.

  9. The Option Blocks • How the Sixth Form timetables are constructed: • Subjects are placed in Option Blocks. All subjects within a block are taught simultaneously and this means that you must ultimately choose one subject from each of the blocks, leaving one spare block. To increase the choice of subject combinations, some subjects will appear in two or more Blocks. • The Option Blocks for September 2013 are driven by the straw poll

Key Dates for RLS applicants • Brochure NOW available for download • Straw Poll Thursday 21-25 November (midnight) • 11 February 2014Year 11 Consultation Evening • 11 -13 February 2014(midnight) The Option Blocks go live on website along with student application form. • Friday 25th or 27th June 2014 Taster Day (we will write to you beforehand to inform you which day) • Thursday 21 August - GCSE Results and Sixth Form Enrolment

Please feel free to visit the subject areas… • A map is available from reception • Sixth Form students will be happy to act as guides as needed • Most students are wearing name badges detailing their subject choices (speak to them about their choices and their experiences) • Please do not forget to complete the Straw Poll questionnaire online before Monday please • We are available for questions after this presentation
