Chapter Vision/Purpose • Encouraging chapter member participation at local, state, and national IAAP educational events throughout the year • Sponsoring the Office Personnel Seminar to offer motivational speakers and educational and professional development through mini-workshops
Chapter Vision/Purpose - continued • Supporting professional growth to those chapter member who are interested in pursuing professional certification as a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) • Sharing “best practices” from our office and personal experience, which enhances the skills and knowledge of other administrative professionals
Chapter Vision/Purpose - continued • Providing leadership opportunities through serving as an officer or committee chair • Providing professional development opportunities through speakers at monthly chapter meetings • Promoting the association’s Member of Excellence program
IAAP History • Founded in 1942 as National Secretaries Association; 70th anniversary this year! • Name changed in 1980 to Professional Secretaries Association • Name changed in 1998 to International Association of Administrative Professionals • Chippewa Valley Chapter founded in 1971
Fun Facts • World’s largest association for administrative personnel • Nearly 600 chapters and approximately 40,000 members and affiliates worldwide • Works in partnership with employers to promote professional excellence
