Introduction • First durability test carried out on 12.5° helix angle gears. • Gears: • Ground, un-heatreated prototypes from Delta. • Gear 1: #13 (installed run-out 0.004mm). • Gear 2: #2 (installed run-out 0.004mm). • Module: • 2.4L module “CTI”. P2 module built at Fremont Production site. • Input gear backlash: 0.027mm. • Thrust End Play (TEP): 0.108mm. • Transfer gear backlash: 0.070mm.
Test Conditions • ESP 002269 rev J test 2 (Shaft Durability) test conditions followed. • 320 Hr Durability test: • 300 Hrs @ 6000 ERPM • 20 Hrs @ 6600 ERPM • Oil: • SAE 5W20 @ 140°C • Test Stand: • BSM Test Stand 1.

Lwr Hsg – Rear Driven Shaft Bearing Rear Driven shaft bearings display fatigue failure. Failure seen previously on durability tests when A515 Bearing material was used. Change to A590 passed Shaft durability test without fatigue damage. Need to confirm material on these bearings SPN011342.
