Differentiated SupportLearning Culture-A Framework Vertical and Horizontal Teacher Collaboration Teams How we fund & support our educational priorities State & district assessments‐state tests, DRA, running records, formative assessments, Regents, graduation rate, HS completion, attendance, etc. All staff, based on data Adapt Common Core Modules, Build expertise with ongoing direct staff development All staff, based on research, for all students
Guided by outcomes and a flexible design, APW will be distinct from other central offices Student-outcome focused APW office Traditional central office
Goals for APW Moving Forward • All students will meet or exceed the Regents College Readiness Benchmark Scores • Eliminate the achievement gaps • All students, including those who already meet or exceed the Regents College Readiness Benchmark Scores, will show measurable growth • Increase attendance rate for all student groups • Improve communication throughout the district and in the community
Quality is Job #1: APW seeks unprecedented impact in these schools Impact goal for all APWCSD : • After three years schools will demonstrate positive levels of student performance that meet or exceed NYSED Race to the Top goals and be the fastest improving schools in the state • After five years APW will be recognized as a Reward District with Reward Schools
Risks could potentially undermine APW’s approach and ultimate impact • Getting bogged down in traditional ways of working (Central Office, School Offices, Teachers in Classrooms, Staff) • Not being able to get the full set of central office supports that are needed • Working too quickly without reflection on our work as teachers and leaders • Lack of proactive communication about what is and isn’t working for students
