THE MEDIA WORKS MODEL • Computer -Assisted • Mouse • Keyboard • Main Focus on Communications in English and Numeracy • Communications also in Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu and Sipedi at Level 1 • 6 to 8 months per subject/learning area per level • Timetable: 3 Times per week on PC (30 minute intervals) • Timetable: 3 Times per week in Work Book (30 minute intervals) • One-on-one contact with Facilitator • Monthly Monitoring of Learning • Flexibility • Portability
AgriSETA’s CONTRIBUTION • Sponsor PC per learners per number of employees at Enterprise: * 10-30 learners = 1PC:10 learners; * 31-50 learners = 1PC:13 learners * above 50 learners = 1PC:15 learners • Sponsor ABET Software • Sponsor Facilitator Training • Sponsor Assessment Moderation • Sponsor Work Books for Learners • Sponsor Monitoring of Project • Sponsor Summative Assessments
ENTERPRISE’S CONTRIBUTION • Avail Learners *Not more than 30% of employees to start the programme * not more than 40% to start at Enterprise with less than 30 learners * where less than 10 learners start, the Enterprise will supply its own PC hardware • Avail Training Facilities - Infrastructure • Provide Stationery • Avail Facilitator • For Facilitation at Enterprise (Salary) • For Training with Media Works
MEDIA WORKS’ CONTRIBUTION • National Project Team • Offices in Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and East London • Bridge between AgriSETA and their Stakeholder • Driving AgriSETA’s vision • Meeting Stakeholder needs • Relevant Training • Facilitator Training • Learning Areas • Quality Control of Project • Facilitator Assessments • Facilitator Training • Assessment Moderation • Monitoring of Learning Process * MW to add or remove PC’s at Enterprises, as necessitated by changes • Final Examinations
