Squamous • Squamous—cells are wider than tall (plate-like) – “squashed”
Cuboidal • Cuboidal—cells are as wide as tall, like cubes
Columnar • Columnar—cells are taller than they are wide, like columns
Ciliated • Ciliated- Have cilia
Layers • Simple—one layer of cells • Stratified—more than one layer of cells

Making a Wet Mount • Place sample on slide • Place a drop of liquid on sample • Dye, Water, Saline solution • Place cover slip on sample (no air bubbles!) • Examine under microscope
