  2. “Project X” The Florida Project Walt Disney bought land and was going to build a city. The original plan was not to have a Magic Kingdom. Walt did not want another Disneyland. ←Walt Disney presenting his Florida project plans

  3. A change of plans The Disney board of directors convinced Walt to put the Magic Kingdom Park into the Florida project.

  4. Construction It took 18 months to build! 9000 Workers! $4 Million ALL FOR ONE PARK!!! Opened October 1st 1971

  5. Why not another? • EPCOT was decided to be a Theme park • Reason: It would be too hard to build a city like Walt wanted A vision of the City Epcot could have looked like is shown above ← Walt Disney telling about his plans

  6. •The park opened October 1st 1982 •The park also had an add on. The World Showcase

  7. Hollywood: From California to Florida The movie theme was to go in one of these building ↓ EPCOT was to add a pavilion themed like a movie place.

  8. Michael Eisner changed the plan to a park, themed like Hollywood- Disney’s MGM Studios ↑The original logo and name The parks name changed in 2008 The newest logo and name for the park →

  9. Final Park (For now) June 20, 1995- The next park was announced: The Animal Kingdom
