Progress • Support to countries in assessing and identifying areas of improvement of their PSM system • CoP ToR and concept note prepared • WB website operational • Kick off planned with HHA partners but proven difficult because of time constraints Challenges • Progress has been slow and participation of members uneven • NO BUDGET FOR REGIONAL ACTIVITIES The Way forward: • Organize a Pharmaceutical and PSM meeting with selected governments, NGOs, academia and other stakeholders – FUNDING NEEDED • Review joint country support for 2011
Some countries that have been supported by HHA partners in 2009-2010 to improve PSM and overall pharmaceutical policiesBenin, Burkina Faso, Congo, DRC, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone Madagascar, Mali, GuineaRwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Burundi Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, Reports available among COP members and some posted in the website
Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) Mapping Methodology • A simple Power Point template was provided • Data collected in October and November 2010 • Responses received from UNFPA, WHO, AfDB, WB and UNICEF
BUDGET NEEDED • Organization of a Pharmaceutical and PSM meeting with selected governments, NGOs, academia and other stakeholders –USD100 000 • Promote joint country support for 2011 by following up on Sierra Leone; Mali; and Mozambique – USD50 000
