LOCATIONTo find where a place is • Absolute Location • The latitude and longitude of a place (global location) or a street address (local location). • Paris France is: 48o North Latitude and 2o East Longitude. • The White House is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. • Relative Location • Location of a place relative to another place. • Described by landmarks, time, direction or distance from one place to another. • It is located 5 miles west from the Gateway Shopping Center. • Virginia is located south of Pennsylvania.

  5. When looking for the latitude of a place: 1-Find the place on a map, 2-Locate the Equator. 3-Determine if the place is north or south of the Equator. 4-Write down the coordinate. Latitude
