WELCOME TO THE SWL ONLINE SYSTEM • YouthNow provides senior students with access to Quality Employers in Melbourne’s west • Employers have been visited by YouthNow and agreed to provide workplace learning opportunities to VCAL and VET students • Students can apply for the opportunities they need. • Students are very privileged to be given the opportunity to do a work placement. It is important that we respect the employers.

  3. WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE? • Opportunities have been sorted in the following ways: • VET (for students studying the VET course) • Work Education(for anyone doing WRS in VCAL) • Work Experience(for year 10s)

  24. SO – in Summary • Student Log in: • View opportunities • Read about standard tasks, hours, location etc • Select up to 5 opportunities • Use My Applications tab to keep up to date with the status of the application

  25. Teacher Approval • Teacher Logs in: • Will read each application and approve the applications • Approved requests go straight to YouthNow

  26. PENDING (YOUTHNOW) • All Student requests are sent to YouthNow • YouthNow contacts employers • A Letter is sent to students to confirm a placement or to request a “meet and greet” with employer • This information is also sent via email to Teacher

  27. STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE • Read letter carefully • Check to see if an interview (meet and greet) is needed before the arrangement is confirmed. • ALL students make appointment to go to workplace and get insurance form signed • Make sure you, your parent, and employer signs the form • Bring back to school to get Principal’s signature • Make sure you attend your work placement!
