Leverage small staff Provide service to more members In step with corporate initiative to modernize Why the electronic process?
Who are the players? • DCPs (Squadron to Group) • Wing and Region Commanders • NHQ LMP/ITA/FMF
Who are the users? • Cadets • Seniors • DCPs • Wing and Region Review Boards • NHQ LMP/FMF
How does it work? • Program built by IT • Uses Crystal Reports to export to Adobe PDF, Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word • Linked to NHQ data-base
Applicant action • User access form 31 on-line at www.capnhq.gov • Complete on-line form • Print and submit for Sq.&Wing use • No paper form 31s to NHQ • Application stored in NHQ database to await Wing approval
Wing Action • Wing reviews and ranks Cadets • Wing electronically transmits ranking to NHQ • Wing ranking has two functions • Rank of cadet is entered into the slotting formula • Ranking of cadet signals approval for cadet to attend a national activity
NHQ action • NHQ loads slotting formula with: • Number of slots available per activity • Cadet activity requests • Wing Ranking of Cadet • NHQ runs slotting program • Notifies Wing DCPs before notifying cadets (confirms accuracy of ranking) • Notifies cadets and activity directors of selection status (primary/alternate)
Payment process • Pay online using credit card via NCSA link • Obtain information for check payments and refunds
Challenges Ahead • Educate field on the process • Get discreet access for activity directors to their activity tables • Ensure all cadets can participate • Units must identify cadets without computer access early
