January, 2012 MS Murali Mohan founder of Workers union at Regency died (reportedly due to police beating) – large scale violence – wage hike / regularization out of 1200, 800 are contact laborers. In the Ransom /looting that followed 50 vehicles were set on fire, factory ransacked. KC Chandrashekar VP (Operations) beaten to death. • March 2011 RS Roy, DGM of Graphic India, Tilagarh in Orissa – Set on Fire – impending retrenchment and refusal to hike wages – steel industry was doing well – Orissa good people- exploitation. November, 2010 MrJoginder Singh HR Manager of Allied Nippon ., Ghaziabad killed by sacked agitating employees – shift change , law full strike. • September, 2009- Pricol, Coimbatore-Tamilnadu, VP [HR] Roy J George Assaulted – hike in salary and regularization of contract workers • September, 2008 LK Chowdhary. Why contract labour? • Cheep labour.
