  3. First you create a compass rose

  4. This helps you to know which way is North on your map

  5. Use a plastic lid to trace a circle and then draw lines right through the middle to create the points on the star

  6. Use colored pencils and watercolors to add life and texture to your map

  7. Perhaps your land is shaped like an animal
