Faith That Pleases God • Hebrews 11:6 belief in the existence of God • He who cometh to God must believe that He is • Necessary but not sufficientJames 2:19 • Belief in the goodness of God “and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seekHim” • We must believe in the gospel of Christ 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 10:9 • Belief in the love God has for us 1 John 4:16 • This is our motivation to diligently seek Him

Faith That Pleases God • We’re blessed with a like precious faith Peter had • We have grace and peace through knowledge of God and our Lord Jesus • Knowledge not GNOSIS intellectual knowledge • It is EPIGNOSIS experiential knowledge • 2 Timothy 3:7 makes the distinction • We know God and live because we know Him • We escaped corruption in the world thru lust • We were purged from our old sins v.9 • Because of faithfrom God’s word Rom. 10:17

Faith That Pleases God • We knowbyobedienceand not merely belief • We must diligently add to our faith 2 Pt 1:5-11 • Feed our faith 1 Pt 2:1-2 • If we abound we will be fruitfulv.8 • If we lack we will be unfruitfulv.9; Luke 3:9 • Our faith must growbydiligence&activity • Is this what is happening to my faith? • What else can happen to my faith? • Can increaseActs 16:5; 2 Cor. 10:15; 2 Th. 1:3

What Can Happen to My Faith? • Can be known by others Rom. 1:8; 1 Th. 1:8 • Can be perfected 1 Th. 3:10 by obedienceJames 2:21-23 • Can be shipwrecked1 Tim. 1:19 • Can be abandoned1 Tim. 4:1; 5:12 cast off • Can bedenied 1 Tim. 5:8 byaction(inaction) • Can be strayed from 1 Tim. 6:10 by greed • Or by false doctrines 1 Tim. 6:20-21 • Can be overthrown2 Tim. 2:18

  6. What Can Happen to My Faith? • Can be shared Philemon 6 • Can be followed Hebrews 13:7 • It can betested James 1:3 It will be tested • Can be known byJesus Rev. 2:19 • IS known byJesus • Can be kept Rev. 14:12; 2 Tim. 4: 7 • Keep your faith • Diligently add to it • Share it with others
