Benefits and Aims • To provide Single Sign On for all users for all systems • Initial focus on key clinical systems • To reduce impact on IT Helpdesks • Reduced reset password requests • To improve time taken to set up accounts for new arrivals • IAM automatically provisions accounts in applications • To improve understanding and management of “who has access to what” • Approvals process built into IAM
Technical Solution • Contract awarded to Sun • Procurement and Contract awarded by NHS Tayside and IAM Project Board • National IAM equipment in Livingston (AOA) • Sun responsible for Service • Training info from Sun • No Helpdesk fixes, triage only • Main processes • Set up of accounts • Use of “cookie” as system token for log in details

National IAM Rollout • IAM is an eHealth mandatory solution • All Chief Executives are signed up to IAM • To be rolled out to 17 Boards within 2 years • All Territorial Boards • NSS, NHS24 and SAS • Will also be provided to: • Golden Jubilee • NES • QIS
NHS Tayside due to go live on 21st July 30 day live running period Workshops held to plan rollout NHS Lothian expected to go live next Focus on integration with clinical applications PAS, PACS priority systems Basic integration in place for first go live Full provisioning to be developed Current Timescales and Progress
