  3. Minoan Civilization • Great sailors • developed writing, artwork • master builders (palace at Knossos) • 2000-1400 B.C. • lived on the island of Crete

  5. Mycenaean Civilization • Built ships • lived on mainland of Greece • built palaces based on Minoan palaces • conquered Minoans in 1450 B.C. • culture ended and the Dark Age began in the 1100s B.C.
