  2. A continent is a large land mass. • There are seven continents on Earth: • Africa • Antarctica • Australia • Europe • Asia • North America • South America Asia is the largest continent. Australia is the smallest continent.

  3. A continent can contain one or more countries or regions. There are 54 countries/regions on the continent of Africa. There are 23 countries in North America. -United States -Canada -Mexico - and 20 more!! Wow!!

  4. North America and South America are large land masses. Are they continents? North America South America

  5. An island is a body of land smaller than a continent and is surrounded by water. Madagascar is a very large island.

  7. A peninsula is a piece of land attached on one side that sticks out into a body of water. It has water on three sides. The U.S. state of Florida is a large peninsula.
