  1. GEA IRAN EARTHQUAKE SEARCH & RESCUE OPERATION-26 December 2003

  2. GEA has immediately started to prepare for disaster response after hearing terrible earthquake. With the formal invitation letter from Iranian Ambassador, also giving information to Turkish Civil Defence General Directorate, the first GEA Team of 7 members was ready to fly to Iran at the same day. The first teams arrived to disaster area were GEA and the Swiss Rescue Team started the operation on the field after 22 hours in the City of BAM.

  5. 27 December 2:45 a.m With the coordination of Turkish Emergency Management General Directorate and Civil Defence General Directorate another GEa Team of 5 members and a transportation vehicle were delivered to disaster area by military airplane.

  7. First GEA Team has returned on 30th December 2003 Tuesday after completing recce and search operations. Second GEA Team is still in BAM , continuing disaster relief operations with the turkish Teams after 10 days of EQ. ..
