  10. Leadership includes: • recognizing skills of other leaders • distributing power throughout the organization • empowering others to show initiative, take risks and move forward • having the courage to trust others

  11. Leadership Leaders are strong, effective communicators who: • listen • watch • absorb

  12. Hidden Agenda A hidden agenda is something a group member wants to influence to meet his or her own needs, rather than those of the group

  13. Types of Leaders • Transactional leaders interact with subordinates to ensure mutually - agree – upon goals are achieved • Transformational leaders are needed to go beyond the status quo; to lead the organization through change
