The Mongol Empire -Commerce • Because it was so large, many mountains and deserts imped trade in the empire including the Himalayan Mountains and Taklamakan and Gobi Deserts • Great horse skills – perhaps the only specialized good – helped them conquer • Protected the Silk Roads and promoted much trade during the empire • Other empires were dependent on the Mongols to protect the trade routes • Kara Khorum became capital city

Create an Infomercial • Infomercial: An informative but also persuasive form of advertisement • You will write a script for an infomercial that we will act out after the break • Take a look at the rubric and practice writing one today. • Tomorrow we will analyze each others scripts and pick the best ones.
