  1. Today I will learn that: In the Eucharist we remember and celebrate what Jesus said and did at the Last supper.

  2. Jesus Thank you for giving yourself to us. • What is a special event that you remember? • Why does remembering them make you happy?

  3. In the Last Supper Jesus told his disciples to remember what? • To remember all that he has done. • He wanted them to celebrate this meal how many times?

  4. Again and Again and Again and Again and Again

  5. Jesus said, • “Do this in memory of me.” (Luke 22:19)

  6. How does the Church continue to celebrate and remember what Jesus did at the Last Supper? • When we celebrate the Eucharist.

  7. The Eucharist • Is the sacrament of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. • The bread becomes • The Body of Christ • The wine becomes • The Blood of Christ

  8. How? • This is done by the power of the Holy Spirit. • Through the words and actions of the priest.

  9. The Word Eucharist means… • To give thanks.

  10. To celebrate the Eucharist • We thank God for all the gifts and blessings he has given us. • We praise Jesus for all he has done for us. • We ask the Holy Spirit to help us grow closer to God.
