What is TB? • Disease caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis • Can damage a person’s lungs or other parts of the body and cause serious damage

How is TB Transmitted?TB CAN be transmitted from infected animals to humans • Animal to Human • Disease transmitted from infected animals to humans during slaughter or handling of live animals or carcass parts • Also transmitted through inhalation, ingestion, and body fluids • Human to Human • Bacteria put into the air when infected person throat coughs, sneezes, or speaks

What are the effects on the deer in the area? • Infected deer • Will have shorter life spans • Be physically weaker and tend to die during harsh winters • Could spread disease to the livestock and people of the area

What are the effects on the economy of the area? • If the deer infect any of the livestock of the area there would be a adverse effect on the farmers • If the number of hunters decrease the service economy would decline • If the number of hunter increases the service economy would rise
