Schedule and Rationale • Specific goals/advantages of the new schedule are: • 1. Emphasis on core subjects of Chinese, Mathematics, and English (Grades 2-8), which are taught daily. • 2. Prescribed number of periods for each subject per grade in the core subjects as well as science, social studies, art, music, PE, and computers. • 3. Six standard academic periods with three 50-minute morning periods and three 45-minute afternoon classes.
Schedule and Rationale • 4. Leveled classes in Chinese (grades 5-8) and mathematics (grades 3-8) based on academic background, exceptional effort, maturity, and success. • 5. More clearly defined start time of 8:30 and dismissal time of 3:30 to allow for both a more productive morning meeting as well as PM Homeroom and Homework Lab with teachers. • 6. Generous lunch and activity period mid-day to allow for physical activity, Student Life opportunities, and extracurricular choices and clubs for MS.

Student Life at Yinghua Academy • This is a student organization that mirrors the administration of the school. It is of students, by students, and for all students. • The six members of the current Student Council have chosen Deputy Head positions, each chairing a department of this student-run organization.
