A Superior Choice for Effective Way of Welding JAMWELD: An Exothermic Welding System for indestructible joint You all are undoubtedly conscious about earthing system because you know it is important in terms of safety of personnel and user. But if we are talking about technologies, than there are many people who are still using the conventional methods of earthing that is not adequate due to jointing failures, corrosion problems, fading issues etc. In this article, we are going to discuss about the advancements that have been acknowledged worldwide and how they came up over mechanical jointing methods.

These are often used in underground applications of earthing systems. But the methods have problem that they are not able to withstand in corrosive environment when directly buried in the ground. Also, some gaps left there between jointing conductors which result in electrical discontinuity. After sometime, the bolting gets loose which hampers the entire earthing arrangement.

It is very reliable to offer permanent molecular bonding between conductors. The contact made between conductor’s surfaces is 100%. Since it is exothermically welded then there is no chance of loosening. It offers long life to joints which will not deteriorate with age. The process is done in a way that a graphite mold which is made according to the dimensions of conductors is tightening by a handle clamp to position the weld safely. The metal disk is fitted inside mold cavity at the bottom. JAMWELD powder is enclosed in a moisture resistant plastic box with air tight closing caps. Pour it thoroughly into the mold crater. Let half of the ignition powder which is available inside the JAMWELD box, scatter over exothermic weld powder and the close the mold’s lid. Some of the ignition powder must sprinkle on the mold’s mouth to inflame it using flint gun. After the completion of the process, remove the conductors and clean the mold.
