HV status • Last month a new version of HV boards has been released by CAEN. • Hardware and Firmware upgraded to fix all problems noticed during our tests and commissioning. • 3 prototypes were tested intensively in 904 and good improvements have been noticed in the current readout. -> Next slide • Caen starts the upgrading for all boards when new additional components are delivered. • First bulk delivery is foreseen end of November (13 boards). • All HV cables usc-uxc ready and tested. All chain tested and worked correctly for almost 3 wheels. Giovanni Polese
Preliminary test results • 2 days @10kV • Same working T • Storing variations more than 0.2 uA • Dy old board about 0.4 uA • Dy new board about 0.2 uA ->MORE STABLE • No steps seen until now and different behavior respect the old one. OLD sn42 NO EFFECT!!! NEW sn76 BOARD TEMP Giovanni Polese
LV system status • All boards delivered and tested. Installation ready for 3 wheels. • High percentage of problematic boards (30%), mostly noticed for boards of the first production (end 05 – beg 06). • All MAO upgraded at the end of August and reinstalled in UXC. Improving in the temperature stability. • Installation of the final LV system in progress, all components already in place under our control. • Major efforts on the installation on the zero far to allow the use of upper sectors during GREN. Conclusion • Most of the hardware delivered, tested and installed in P5. • Big improvements noticed in the new HV boards prototype, in production from the beginning of November. • Positive tests performed in global operations for HV and LV system. Improving in time performances and in reliability expected with the new CAEN OPC server. Release foreseen for the next weeks. • End of the Installation for LV system foreseen for end of the year. • HV system ready for the beginning of the next year, major delay due to the upgrade of all boards.
