  4. Software There are 2 types of Software Operating System Software – The instructions that help the hardware and programs work together Application software - These are the specific instructions to the programs that are installed or downloaded in your computer
  5. Operating System Software Is used with the memory of your computer Can format your disks Create folders to save files Makes it able to move and copy files and folders
  6. Examples of Software Operating System Application Microsoft Word Facebook Microtype Angry Birds Power point Temple Run Movie Maker MAC OS X Windows 7 Windows XP

Microsoft Software Word Processing* – is used for documents that contain lots of text (reports, business letters and memos) Publisher* – creates different publications (flyers, brochures, business cards, etc) Spreadsheet* – Is used for calculations and to create graphs Database – Holds the most information in the form of records and can create different reports Presentation – (power point) creates informational presentations for audiences.
