Explanation of Benefits • After migration, IBC will offer a new, easier-to-read format for the member Explanation of Benefits (EOB). • The EOB is a notification sent to members to summarize how claims are processed. • Members will receive the redesigned EOB and new plan statements immediately following platform transformation when they have a medical claim with member liability (just as they do today).
What’s Changing EOB Format • The EOB will have the same information as our current version, but a new, more user-friendly format. • After your organization migrates to the platform, members will begin receiving the new, redesigned EOB when they have a medical claim with member payment due. There is no EOB generated for pharmacy claims. • Members can select how they would like to receive their EOB: • Paperless via the member portal or email, which customers have the option to turn off. • Through the mail

Plan Activity Statement Consolidates EOB Information Information on EOBs, claims, spending accounts, and payments is consolidated in the Plan Activity Statement, a single, user-friendly statement.
Communications “How to Read Your EOB” flyer • IBC will educate members on the changes to the EOB and new tools available with an updated “How to Read Your EOB” flyer. • Members can select how they would like to receive EOBs, paperless via the member portal or email, or through the mail. • IBC has educated doctors, hospitals, and specialists on the EOB changes to ensure they are prepared to answer member questions.
