Pinnacle Studio • is a non-linearvideo editing softwareapplication manufactured by Pinnacle Systems, a division of Avid Technology. It is the consumer-level counterpart to Pinnacle's former professional-level software, Liquid Edition (now Avid Liquid). It also inherits from VOB Computersysteme'sInstant CD/DVD. Studio allows users to author video content, create VCD/DVDs, Bluray as well as AVCHD disks in its latest release, v15, all with menus and burn them without the need for any additional software.

Pinnacle Studio • may be purchased separately, but is also included in bundled packages with various video capture hardware devices. These include analog and digital capture, either as PCI cards or connection via USB. In September 2007, Pinnacle released new versions of their Moviebox devices, including HDV and AVCHD support, shipped with their new Studio products.
Pinnacle Studio • In addition, a cut-down SE version entitled Pinnacle Studio QuickStart was included with the Dazzle (another USB capture device) and Pinnacle PCTVproducts, though since the release of Studio 12, the QuickStart version has been discontinued; Dazzle Video Creator Platinum now ships with the regular basic version of Studio, and the PCTV products ship with VideoSpin
Pinnacle Studio • Studio 12 was released in June 2008. Enhancements to the editing features included markers that can be placed on the timeline "on the fly", improved audio controls and the addition of Montage, which allows multi-layered video and still composites to be generated within pre-defined templates. MOD import and FLV output was added, as was direct upload to YouTube (similar to arch-competitors iMovie and Adobe Premiere Elements).
Pinnacle Studio • The Plus and Ultimate versions also added full Blu-ray disc burning with menus. Ultimate comes with Vitascene as in S11, but replaces Soundsoap and Moving Picture with Boris Graffiti 5.1 and Magic Bullet Looks SE. A new addition was the Content Transfer Window which should allow you to import any plug-ins or premium content purchased for Studio 10 or 11.

It is available in three versions; Pinnacle Studio version 12 ($49), Pinnacle Studio version 12 Plus ($99), and Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate ($129). The computers were not readily up to task, extra hard disk space and memory was very expensive, and the Windows operating system that Studio ran on was prone to crashing, freezing, and locking up.

Export capabilities include direct export to YouTube (finally, as other editors have had this for a while), the capability to create Flash videos from the Timeline, as well as support for video output to 3GP mobile phones.
