  4. Family • SIBLINGS- Mary was her older sister (died of tumour), Younger brother Edward (died age 16) • Eliazabeth’s dad was Henry VIII, her mum was Anne Boylen (executed for adultery, incest and treason) • There is no loyalty in blood

  5. Catholic vs protestant view • Elizabeth was a protestant, and so was James who succeeded her. • Elizabeth’s cousin Mary Queen of Scots was a Catholic • When Elizabeth inherited England from her Catholic sister, she changed the main religion to Protestantism

  9. Influence on theatre • Queen Elizabeth and James I both liked theatre • Queen Elizabeth had to approve all plays performed in Lodon • This caused a significant change in the style of plays. • The queen liked Shakespeare’s plays and supported his work
