Course description • A survey and analysis of the history, identification and characteristics of drugs of abuse. A basic study of the effects and concepts of drug use and the legal aspects of drug control.
Course objectives • Develop an in-depth knowledge base of the sub matter with a concentration on what a Professional infield of corrections or enforcement needs to know • be able to conduct research • create and organize ideas and concepts
Course objectives • Enhance triple thinking process by examining their value system on subject matter in a lot of personal and group research and discussion • develop skill in the use of the library and Internet • improve ability to communicate verbally and in writing • enhance self image and gain confidence by defending views before an audience
Work schedule • Monday --15 minute lecture -- student presentations • Wednesday -- Chapter letters • Fridays --15 minute lecture -- group work -- quizzes

group rotation • September 30 or as needed

grading • Presentations: 400 points • quizzes: 300 points • short papers: 200 points • the final: 100 points • extra credit: as needed • total: 1000 points
grading • A 900+ • B 800+ • C 700+ • D 600+ • F below 600 • no one can pass this course without completing all of the portions of the course
