Strengths of the Chipola College School of Education Premium Education for Low Cost • Tuition cost approximately one-third of public university • Foundation scholarships and Florida minority teacher scholarships are available • Outstanding Curriculum • Classes offer multiple opportunities to teach within the coursework so teacher candidates are more prepared for the internship. • Majority of classes taught by full time faculty who are available outside of class.
Strengths of the School of Education, continued • Class Schedule meets Student Needs • Classes meet two days per week • Practicum and Internship assignments can be completed in local schools • ESE program is offered at night to allow for full time employment. . • Graduates More Qualified • El Ed and ESE graduates meet requirements for both ESOL and Reading endorsements within required courses. • English graduates earn ESOL endorsement and may choose to complete Reading endorsement with additional coursework with program of study.
Beyond the Classroom Support –the Chipola College Difference Teacher Candidates receive financial support to attend National and State Conferences while enrolled in the program.
Outreach Activities - the Chipola College Difference, cont. • Future Educator Club sponsors a annual workshop where teacher candidates present as well as learn.
Beyond the Classroom Support –the Chipola College Difference, cont. School of Education models school field trips for Elementary Education teacher candidates by sponsoring a field to the Capitol.

Graduate Success • Local practicum and internships help graduates find positions in the district • Graduates from each of Chipola’s programs are granted a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate. • Programs average over a ninety percent hire rate when graduates seek employment the first year. • Over ninety percent of graduates are rehired in a teaching position for a second year.
