How it Works Learning Objectives • International delegates gain an appreciation of some aspects Hungarian culture and history with an engineering dimension. • Delegates (academics, students, practicing engineers) from the Hungary and around the world get to know each other and form networks through a shared experience of the engineering and cultural heritage of Budapest. Learning Activity • Read short summary of options in your conference booklet. • Register (Sign up) at ASEE Conference Desk – numbers are limited. • Meet your local guide near the ASEE desk on Wednesday at 2pm • If a tour is full, consider making your own self-guided tour. Reflection (Assessment) • Groups discuss their impressions at a local café or restaurant. • Delegates give the organizers feedback on the conference evaluation form.

  4. Option 1: Visit the Zwack Museum Travel: by tram (duration approx. 30 minutes from conference location) Ideal attendee number: 20 – 30 Cost: approx. 1.800 HUF (~10 USD)/person entrance fee + 600 (~3 USD)/person return ticket cost for public transportation Departure: on Wednesday, at 14.15

Option 2: Millennium Underground Railway Travel: by walking (duration approx. 5 minutes from conference location to Deák tér) Ideal attendee number: 20 – 25 Cost: approx. 300 HUF (~1,5 USD)/person entrance fee + 600 (~3 USD)/person return ticket cost for public transportation Departure: on Wednesday, at 14.15

  6. Option 3: Budapest Bridges and Pasta Bridge Competition Travel: by tram (duration approx. 25 minutes from conference location to Budapest Polytechnic, Népszínház u. 8.) Ideal attendee number: 25 – 30 Cost: approx. 600 (~3 USD)/person return ticket cost for public transportation Departure: on Wednesday, at 14.15

Option 6: Community Service Activity • Community service and outreach activities are an integral part of the Global Student Forum • Engineering educators and students cannot sit and wait for the change they feel is necessary to make it happen.  • Activity: Painting a Budapest Polytechnic University student dormitory.  This community service event will allow participants to provide a need identified by local stakeholders. • Outcome: A lasting experience between students and professionals alongside our local partners.
