And Moses the servant of the LORD gave their land to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh to be their possession.

  8. 1When Joshua was old and well advanced in years, the LORD said to him, "You are very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over. 2"This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and Geshurites: 3from the Shihor River on the east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north, all of it counted as Canaanite (the territory of the five Philistine rulers in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron--that of the Avvites); 4from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, from Arah of the Sidonians as far as Aphek, the region of the Amorites,

  9. 5the area of the Gebalites ; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath. 6"As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you, 7and divide it as an inheritance among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh." (Josh 13:1-7)

  10. Moses, Joshua conquest

  11. The Land God Promised to Israel

  12. 16Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? 18And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed ? 19So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. (Heb 3:16-19)

  13. It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience. (Heb 4:6) • For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; (Heb 4:8-9)

  14. I. The Journey of Salvation • Justification—Past • Sanctification—Present • Glorification—Future

  15. Every Journey is part of salvation • For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God(Eph 2:8) • Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, (Phil 2:12) --Past --Present

  16. Every Journey is part of salvation • "Is not my house right with God? Has he not made with me an everlasting covenant, arranged and secured in every part? Will he not bring to fruition my salvation and grant me my every desire? (2Sam 23:5) • Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. (2Tim 2:10) --Future --Future

  17. II. We have already entered Jesus’ kingdom of salvation. • 31Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. (John 12:31)

  18. III. We have received the inheritance of His kingdom. • 13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory. (Eph 1:13-14)

  19. IV. Rise up and Claim the Title! • 12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, (Phil 2:12) • Some area has giants, some doesn’t. Is it fair?

  20. Conclusion • The most obese countries are in America! Could you own a country? • The opportunity presented in Southern California. • Do we go to Syria? • God, give me Taiwan!
