Fine Arts Program rated Exemplary Skinner Fine Arts Advanced Art Studio students have achieved many city wide awards. Skinner Ballroom dancers also excelled and made it to the finals at the BISD Ballroom Dance Competition. Skinner Elementary
Wellness and Physical Education Programs rated Exemplary Skinner Running Club participated in many city runs, the BISD track meet, and Jump Rope for Heart Skinner Elementary
Community and Parental Involvement rated Recognized Skinner Elementary partnered with the University of Texas and trained students in Districts initiatives to work one on one with 1st grade students. Skinner Participated with HEB in the HEB Read 3 program Kindergarten parents came to read to their Kindergarten children . Counselor and TLI Specialist also met with Kinder parents. Volunteers from Winter Haven Resort came weekly to read to our 2nd grade students Skinner Elementary
21st Century Workforce Development rated Recognized Career Day was held in May. Our 5th grade students met with several professionals including: Border Patrol, ICE, SWAT, Attorney, PA, Realtor, Hair Stylist and more.. 5th Grade students also visited UTB. Skinner Elementary
Dropout Prevention Strategies rated Exemplary The Thin Blue Line Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club donated bicycles to be raffled off to students with perfect attendance. Students also were rewarded to attend a fun day at the BISD encampment. Skinner Elementary
Second Language Acquisition Program Recognized Many upper grades at Skinner Elementary celebrate the “Day of the Dead” in November and the entire campus celebrates “Charro Days” by dressing in traditional costumes and perform traditional “Mexican” dances. Skinner Elementary
Digital Learning Environment rated Recognized Students and teachers have access to iStation and Think Thru Math through the Skinner Website. Teachers also have immediate access to ETAZO and Tango Central. Students are also trained to use Kindle Fire which also have several educational applications and novels. Skinner Elementary
Gifted and Talented Program rated Recognized Two of our Destination Imagination teams made it to the State Competition Skinner Elementary
