  2. Beginning • Nate the Great was buying his dog Sludge a gift. It was a dog bowl. It has red bones all over it. It was white all over it. When he came back Sludge wasn’t there. He saw his best friend. He asked “ Have you seen my dog”? She said “ I think I saw him go into the underwear department. Nate the Great went to the underwear department. He didn’t see Sludge.

  3. Middle • He came back to his friend. He asked “ do you know where my dog is”? She said “ he went in the mattress department. He went to the mattress department. He didn’t see sludge. He ordered some pancakes. He waited a couple minutes.

  4. End • He went over to the cafeteria. He found paw prints with baking soda over them. He followed them. He found sludge. He got his pancakes and shared them with sludge.
