What Our Structure Does for Us • Standing Committees • Divisions • Board • Staff

Board of Directors • By law, ANS (as a not-for-profit organization) must be governed by a Board of Directors. • Members have an obligation to ensure that the best interests of ANS are served. • The Board (by law) is the governing body of the organization. • Members must refrain from acting on personal or special interests.
Staff Hired by the Executive Director Support the mission of the Society Consistency in providing support to ANS mission Many diverse functions Staff members’ needs: To be thanked Clear things to support Linkage to “two” missions
Team Activity The name of a Division or Committee or TG or WG will be placed on your back Interact with the other leaders to find out what’s on your back and take that seat • Who are you? • Two questions (Y/N) per leader • Move and be active! • Then take on that role
Take-aways In your leadership role, what will you be teaching/mentoring today/this week? Create a record of performance (performance is the only thing that will encourage members to trust and support you.) One member does well, does better, acknowledge that, others will challenge themselves. What do you want to be remembered for as Chair?
