After considerable time spent searching for my latest book on Amazon, I have come to the conclusion Amazon are either specifically targeting me and listing my books right down the ranks, or else they simply are not interested in me as an indie author or anyone else who is self-published. But even if that is true, noting can explain why my most recent book finds its way near the bottom of every search result I tried. The results of those searches have rocked my already shaky world and I find myself wondering if this will ever change. Are Amazon out to get me? Is there a mistake in listings? Am I the only one? Is this a conspiracy or just coincidence? All I know for sure is that there is no way I am going to sell books when people cannot even find them. You be the judge and look at the facts on the following pages and then make a judgement.

3. Amazon listing result for “New and Popular” search of my new book. My book is listed as 804 of 976 results. Most of the books above me have been released before mine. In fact, mine is one of the most recent releases. Many of the books listed ahead of me have not had a review yet, so there is no need for books older than mine to be listed ahead of mine, yet this is consistently what I am finding.

5. This is starting to become ridiculous. How come some authors are allowed to put a publications date of the year 9999 just to jump to the top of the list. Yet I am not allowed to publish a book beyond the current date?

7. This book was listed 1,000 books ahead of mine. It is one of hundreds of similar books, devoid of imagination, lacking originality and poorly written and produced. So why are they listed so far ahead of my books? An example of just one of the hundreds of terrible books listed far ahead of mine on every listing I searched. Why? A child could do better than these books. Poor grammar, bad rhyme (or in many case no rhyme), terrible layout, no real attempt to make it look like a book people would want to buy and here I am pouring hours, days and weeks into every book I produce and still my books are listed way, way down the list. Note: I’m not picking on other authors, merely pointing out that there is no logical reason for books as bad as this to be listed ahead of my very good books. It disgusts me, to be frank.

8. I plan on challenging Amazon to explain, but only after I thoroughly research the listings of my other books. I’m fed up with the lack of integrity from Amazon, who seem to be pushing me out of the game. I am not sure why they are doing this. Maybe they got their nose out of joint? Maybe they see me as a threat? Maybe they just don’t care? There is nothing offensive about what I have said publicly about Amazon, but what has become clear to me is there is something very strange about the results so far. Nothing adds up. All I know for certain is that my sales have slowly eroded away to nothing, despite my ever expanding presence online. My books are consistency listed in the bottom 10 percent, way below even books written in a foreign language. There is no way Amazon can ever explain this in a way which makes sense to me or anyone else.
