  24. Visit of HistoricalHarbour & CityCenter 1 Antalya was founded two millennia ago because of its good harbor. It became a major Mediterranean port of Asia Minor in Roman times.The Romans strengthened the city's fortifications and improved the harbor's facilities. Through Byzantine times, and the empires of the Seljuk Turks and Ottomans, daily life in Antalya centered on the harbor.Today the harbor is still at the heart of Antalya, at water's edge in the historic core of the city called Kaleiçi (Old Antalya). It's now surrounded by restaurants and cafes. The boats in the harbor now are not cargo ships but private yachts and the broad-beamed gulets that take visitors out into the Gulf of Antalya on fishing trips or day-long excursions along the coast.

  25. Visit of Düden & Kurşunlu Waterfalls 2 Düden Waterfall: The magnificent place at Duden Waterfall is about 10 kilometers distance to the beaches South East of Antalya. Over here the river Duden is leaving a higher plateau of the Taurus mountains by falling about 15 m deep and 20 m wide onto a lower plateau next to Antalya. Because of the raw ingredients in the water, huge amounts of Tuff stone ( volcanic ) materials have formed the river bed as well as a cave below the waterfall. Always you can listen the sound of the falling water shimmering beautiful ice blue through the trees. All the area is kept in nice condition in peace and the view onto the waterfall is fascinating. Kurşunlu Waterfall: The Kurşunlu Waterfall is located 19 km from Antalya, Turkey at the end of a 7 km road branching off to the north of the Antalya-Serik-Alanya highway at a point 12 km from Antalya. It is reduced to a mere trickle in the summer months.The waterfall is on one of the tributaries of the Aksu River and its situation in the midst of a pine forest is of quite exceptional beauty. The countryside around the water forms a lovely picnic and pleasure spot only twenty minutes from the centre of the city of Antalya.

  32. Visit of Perge & Aspendos Ancient Cities 1 Perge: Situated 18 km east of Antalya, Perge is in the city limits of AksuBucagi. Because of its location on the Cilicia - Pisidia road, it was a vital part of the province of Pamphylia, and was founded around the same time as the other cities in the area (7th century BC). It was an important city for Christians of Perge who had worshipped the mother goddess Artemis. Aspendos: Aspendos, located beside the river Eurymedon (Köprüçay), is renowned throughout the world for its magnificent ancient amphitheatre.According to Greek legend, the city was founded by Argive colonists who, under the leadership of the hero Mopsos, came to Pamphylia after the Trojan War. Aspendos was one of the first cities in the region to strike coinage under its own name. On these silver staters dated to the fifth and fourth century B.C., however, the name of the city is written esEstwediiys in the local script.
