  1. Computers My name is KRYSTIAN ZAJDEL. I have lots of different hobbies but my favourite are computers and information technology. Workingat a computer for some people isa very boring work but I really like it and it gives me a lot of joy. Of course I don’t mean working with office software because I hate it. I learn programmes and create web pages. I really enjoy it when I have time for this. I am also interestedin computer networks and telecommunication. Thanks to the computer I can also listen to music, watch movies and surf the Internet.I would like to devote my future life to computers and telecommunication. If it comes true, it will be just great. NOW SEE MY PRESENTATION

  2. Computer A computer is a device capable of processing data according to a programme. The data to be processed may represent many types of information including numbers, texts, pictures or sounds.

  3. Computer hardware Computer hardware is a physical part of a computer. More details on next pages.

  4. Motherboard • A motherboard, also known as a main board, mainboard, logic board or system board, and sometimes abbreviated as mobo, is the central or primary circuit board making up a complex electronic system, such as a computer.

  5. Processor • A central processing unit (CPU), or sometimes simply processor, is the component in a digital computer that interprets and executes instructions and data contained in software. CPUs provide the fundamental digital computer trait of programmability, and comprise one of the core components found in almost all modern microcomputers.

  6. Random access memory • Random access memory, is a type of computer storage whose contents can be accessed in any order. This is in contrast to sequential memory devices such as magnetic tapes, discs and drums, in which the mechanical movement of the storage medium forces the computer to access data in a fixed order.

  7. PSU • A power supply unit is a device or a system that supplies electrical or other types of energy to an output load or group of loads.

  8. Graphics Card • A graphics card, is a component of a computer which is designed to convert a logical representation of an image stored in a memory to a signal that can be used as an input for a display medium, most often a monitor utilizing a variety of display standards.

  9. Monitor • A computer display, monitor or screen is a computer peripheral device capable of showing characters and/or still or moving images generated by a computer and processed by a graphics card.

  10. Hard Disk Drive • A hard disk drive is a non-volatile data storage device that stores data on a magnetic surface layered onto hard disk platters.

  11. Sound Card • A sound card is a computer expansion card that can input and output sound under a programmed control.

  12. Network Card • A network card is a piece of computer hardware designed to provide for computer communication over a computer network.

  13. Peripheral Device • A peripheral device is any device attached to a computer in order to expand its functionality. Some of the more common peripheral devices are: printers, scanners, disk drives, tape drives, microphones, speakers, and cameras. A device can also refer to a non-physical item, such as a RAM drive, or a network adapter.
