GSI Update • GSI Budget Steady (c.€10m) • Post retirements: 40 Professional/Tech & 8 admin • c.20 Contractors • New Permanent Director, Jan 2013 • Main Projects : Marine/INFOMAR €3m p.a • TELLUS Border c € 1mp.a. • Groundwater/Quaternary/Minerals/Hazards/Heritage/CCS • External revenue c. €1.2m (Mainly EU, some Las) • 2014+ New Project Cycle • Stakeholders/Agency engagement • Geoscience IRL, 18 Members/€100m p.a./930 staff

  4. GSNI/GSI • Award winning Outreach/ Geophysical/Geochemical Project • Current EU (ERDF/InterReg Funded) GSNI/GSI • NB Engagement with Agriculture community • Completes in 2013 • Possible Tellus West? • TELLUS NAG?

Marine • GSI now 3 inshore vessels, “new” vessel 2012 • Partner in new DG Mare Funded • EMODNET Geology (many NAG Members) • EMODNET Hydrography (IFREMER etc) • EC Green Paper Marine Knowledge (Dec, 2012) • Atlantic Strategy launch, IRL, May – 2013 • Poss NAG project? (later) • Review in 2013, PwC
