The Educational Leadership Program The Educational Leadership Program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in the principles and practices of school administration and supervision.
Hood College/FCPS Partnership Program • Students begin and end program as a learning community • Closed enrollment • Courses taken at FCPS locations • Accelerated course format
Educational Leadership Approved Program • Designed to meet national, professional, state and department standards. • National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) • Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) • Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) • Education Department Institutional Outcomes (IOs)
Hood’s Three-Phase Program • Phase I (Master’s program begins) – Four foundation courses central to all departmental Master’s programs • Phase II (Certification program enters) – Coursework including school law, leadership, supervision and curriculum development • Phase III –Year-long internship

FCPS and Hood College Partnership Tuition Reimbursement
Reimbursement for Education Expenses • The Board of Education will reimburse professional personnel holding the Standard or Advanced Professional Certificate for graduate level course work up to a maximum of 36 credits. • If you have already received reimbursement for graduate credits, the number of available reimbursement credits is deducted from the maximum amount of 36.
Reimbursement for Education Expenses • The maximum tuition reimbursement per year shall be at the cost of 9 credits at the normal Hood College graduate tuition rate or equivalent.
Request for Tuition Reimbursement Prior to taking the course • Complete the FCPS Course Approval Form. After completing the course • Fill out, sign and submit the Request for Tuition Reimbursement Form • Send your original grade report(s) or transcripts (photocopies not accepted) • Send proof of payment • Send copy of the approvedCourse Approval Form.
Admission Requirements • Completed application (www.hood.edu/graduate) • Official transcript from institution where highest degree was conferred (minimum cumulative GPA 2.75) • Writing sample and interview (to be scheduled with the Education department)
