  1. Earthquakes, Day 5 Create your own earthquake questions

  2. Bloom’s Taxonomy

  3. Pick a map & epicenter • Choose a map from my collection. • Choose an epicenter. On your answer key, record the latitude and longitude of the epicenter.

  4. Choose 3 Cities • Select 3 cities. These will be the locations for the seismographs. • Pick cities that are easy to find. • Pick cities that are not all too close together. • Calculate the distance from each city to the epicenter. • Record your distances on the answer key.

  5. Create your seismograms • Calculate the time-lag between the arrival of the P-Waves and S-Waves at each of your seismographs (cities). • Create a seismogram for each city that displays the proper time-lag. You’ll create a total of 3 seismograms. • Make the seismograms look good. Another group will read them eventually.

  6. Turn in your stuff • In a manila folder, turn in your answer key and your 3 seismograms. • On the cover of the folder, include your map name. But don’t put your group members’ names on the folder.
