Evaluation

1. What went well: The design are very balanced in terms of it’s both functional and appearance is appealing. Functional because it take little space but stores quite an amount of ‘thingies’, that also means it’s efficient. Appealing appearance because of it’s simple forms and clear, sharp lines and shapes that gives us a modern feeling. The organic look makes it more environmentally friendly, and it blends well with other furniture made of wood. Evaluation

2. Improvements to make / things I’ve learnt: Throughout this project, again I’ve notice the importance of time management, because I’ve failed to finish the product. The plan should be more detailed and I should’ve followed it’s time margins and check as I’m producing the product. Another thing I’ve learnt is the skills of using different tools and producing a product with timber. And in the process of the project, I’ve broke many parts of my product while building it because I’ve used the tools incorrectly (e.g. Chiseling too hard or in nail in the wrong place), now I know that I should be more careful using the tools, and I should think before, such as will I be able to chisel leaving just so little space at the side, or maybe it’ll break? Or consider where the grains should go in order to make the production easier? I’ve failed to fulfill the criteria of being efficient and environmentally friendly, and not been able to finish this task but skills were definitely built which can help me a lot when I face another task using timber again.
